Wow! We just finished up the third and final day of our music workshop at Girls Inc. in Rapid City, South Dakota. And oh boy (or should I say girl? 😉  ) did we learn a lot! With only one day to get the performance element down we had quite the task on our hands. But these girls did it! They really pulled it off!
Just as a refresher for those who didn’t get the last post, we spent the past two weeks going around Ms. Jess’s science room and finding sweet sounds to make our own instruments. We then loaded them onto Madpad to make them more easily accessible to our rowdy bunch of musicians and made songs out of what we heard.
Today, after listening to some of their favorite (T. Swift) songs and talking about how drum parts can be split up into reoccurring and varied patterns that when put together make a “beat,” we let the girls form into two person bands and have at.
